Air conditioning policy for 2003 announced Employees are asked not to open windows between May 1 and the end of September, when air conditioning season typically ends for the year. Keeping the windows closed during the cooling season will help building ventilation systems operate more efficiently and balance temperatures throughout facilities. On rare occasions (the last time was summer 1999) state facilities are directed by the Wisconsin Department of Administration to turn off air conditioning to help utility companies reduce electrical demand. Unfortunately, when this occurs, Facilities Planning and Management staff members get little or no advance notice. If and when this happens, employees will be notified as soon as possible. For more information on heating, ventilating
or air conditioning, contact Ron
Tischer at 836-3376 or tischerr@uwec.edu; or Steve Bremness, at
836-3376. Employment |
