Theresa D. Kemp's article titled "'The Knight of the Tower' and the Queen in Sanctuary: Elizabeth Woodville's use of Meaningful Silence and Absence," published in New Medieval Literatures, Vol. 4, 2001, pages 171-188, was selected as the June 2002 Article of the Month by Feminae: Medieval Women and Gender Index of Haverford College.


Geography and Anthropology 
Garry Running, Karen Havholm (Geology) and UW-Eau Claire students Nicole Bergstrom, Ryan DeChaine and Shawn Kyle gave oral and poster presentations during a special session titled "Great Plains Geomorphology and Environmental Change" at the 47th Joint Annual Meeting of the Geological Association of Canada/Mineralogical Association of Canada May 27-29 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
