Computing Assistance & Training Workshop. An overview of Excel Mail Merge will be held today. This workshop will demonstrate how to use a Word document and an Excel spreadsheet to create mailing labels, envelopes, form letters, department directories and more. Planetarium Program. Featuring "More Than Meets the Eye," a show that compares naked-eye views of celestial objects with the views from binoculars, small/medium telescopes and professional observatories. Summer Cinema. Featuring "Hoop Dreams" (US 1994, directed by Steve James, 170 min., rated PG-13). This film is the Sundance-winning documentary that spans five years in the lives of two Chicago youths who dream of playing basketball professionally. Davies Theatre, 7 p.m. Through June 28. Singing Statesmen on Wisconsin Public Radio. Wisconsin Public Radio will broadcast several works from the Singing Statesmen's most recent CD, "A Testament," on its “Music from Wisconsin” shows this week. Today's show, to be broadcast at 2 p.m. on WUEC, 89.7 FM, will feature J.A. Parks' "O Home Beloved."
Music on the Mall. Today's featured artist is singer-songwriter Matt Wahl. He creates a down-to-earth, light-hearted acoustic rock-folk sound that appeals to any age. Drawing from such artists as Gordon Lightfoot, Harry Chapin and Jimmy Buffet, he mixes lyrically meaningful original songs with fun cover tunes.
