Faculty Member on WPR. Phillip Ostrander, music and theatre arts, and his wife, Allison, were interviewed in May for a Wisconsin Public Radio story on Wisconsin musicians. The interview will air today at 7:30 a.m. on WUEC, 89.7 FM.

Summer Cinema. Wednesdays in July, a film series called Summer Cinema Revolution: A Declaration of Independents will celebrate creative and independent films and filmmakers. The series begins tonight with "A Night with the STIFFE," a selection of short films from the annual Student Independent Film Festival at UW-Eau Claire. Short films ranging from comedy to drama to action to silent films and more will be included in this selection of the best festival entries submitted by UW-Eau Claire students. Children's Planetarium Program. Featuring a children's version of "More than Meets the Eye," a show that compares naked-eye views of celestial objects with the views from binoculars, small/medium telescopes and professional observatories. Music on the Mall. Tonight's show will feature Irie Sol, a group whose music is a blend of reggae, dancehall, jazz, soul, rock and hip-hop. Such an eclectic blend reflects the diverse origins and influences of band members who hail from Canada, Iran, Jamaica, Korea, the East Coast, Minneapolis and northern Wisconsin. Audience members are invited to bring blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating. Free popcorn will be provided and other refreshments will be sold.
