Summer Chamber Music Series. The UW-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department in cooperation with University Centers and Programs will present a series of recitals titled SUMMER WINDS on Sunday afternoons during July and August. Today's performance will feature a recital of music for clarinet, bassoon and piano by Clearly Three, an ensemble made up of music and theatre arts faculty members Richard Fletcher, Kristine Fletcher and Barbara Wimunc-Pearson. Music on the Mall. Featuring ethnic flutist Peter Phippen. A professional musician for more than 25 years, Phippen spent his early career days as a bass guitarist and recording artist. But in 1987 his first flute — a 25-cent bamboo whistle — found its way into his hands, and wooden flutes became his solo instrument of choice.
