Music on the Mall. Featuring Howard “Guitar” Luedtke and Blue Max. Led by one of the Midwest's best slide guitar players, this rocking electric blues trio has opened shows for numerous big-name blues artists. Summer Cinema. "Scream." (U.S. 1996, directed by Wes Craven, 111 min., rated R.) The sleepy little town of Woodsboro just woke up screaming. There's a killer in their midst who's seen a few too many scary movies. Suddenly, nobody is safe, as the psychopath stalks victims, taunts them with trivia questions, then rips them to bloody shreds. Summer Pilates. Pilates classes will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays June 14-Aug. 4. The cost is $70 for UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff and students; or $110 for community members. Fifth Annual Juneteenth Celebration. Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery, which honors human rights and racial unity. The Eau Claire event will bring together area residents to celebrate and share their commitment toward a more united community enriched by its diversity. Food, music, activities for children, and a brief program on the history of Juneteenth are planned. Mt. Simon Park, Dells Pavilion, Eau Claire, 5 to 8 p.m. Full story.
