Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. The Dimensions in Nursing program was featured on WEAU-TV July 14. Rodd Freitag, political science, was quoted in the July 13 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article "For many lawmakers, there's no contest — But Senate's Panzer must defend in her own party," about the Wisconsin state elections. Mort Sipress, emeritus, political science, was quoted in the July 13 Leader-Telegram article "Clausing runs for Senate again" and in the July 14 article "Region has fall election races." UW-Eau Claire student Emilee Planert was quoted in the July 13 Leader-Telegram article "An Olympian task — Planert, Wold preparing for game against national squad." Planert, a UW-Eau Claire softball team member, was chosen to join a Midwest all-star softball team to play against the U.S. Olympic softball team July 15 in Stevens Point. Terry Classen, Facilities Planning and Management, and Andy Soll, Business and Student Services, were quoted in the July 12 Leader-Telegram article "Backed up on campus — Riverbank project to disrupt traffic. M. Cecilia Wendler, nursing systems, was quoted in the July 11 Star Tribune article "Fandom of the opera." In the article, Wendler describes the importance of the musical "The Phantom of the Opera" in her work and personal life. |
