Wisconsin Ideas available online
The Summer 2004 issue of Wisconsin Ideas, a publication of the UW System, is available online. The issue includes:
    • Farewell to UW System President Katharine C. Lyall.
    • Words of Wisdom — Wisconsin Ideas offers a collection of the advice, wisdom and celebration offered by some of those who delivered this spring's commencement addresses, including Gov. Jim Doyle.
    • Charting a New Course: The state of Wisconsin must recommit to providing adequate, stable support if the UW System is to continue to deliver quality public higher education and ensure access for Wisconsin students, the UW System Board of Regents concluded last month following a year-long study.
    • Biennial Budget: The UW System outlines priorities for the 2005-07 state budget.

School of Nursing to offer free physical exams
UW-Eau Claire nursing students and faculty members will lead a free health assessment clinic for children aged 5 to 12 Monday, Aug. 2, from 2 to 4:20 p.m. at the School of Nursing. Evaluations will include health histories, nutritional assessments, vision and hearing screenings, and physical exams. Faculty members will sign some sports or camp physical forms.
