Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Jeremy Hein, sociology, was quoted in the July 3 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article "Toward the land of the free — Next big wave of Hmong refugees may be the last." Chancellor Mash was quoted in the June 29 Leader-Telegram article "Census: State fails to keep its college grads." He also was interviewed June 29 by WEAU-TV's Anna Wagnild for a similar story titled "College Census." Tom Patt and Lisa Schuetz, University Recreation, were quoted in the June 29 Leader-Telegram article "Camp teaches sports, life lessons to youth," about the National Youth Sports Program at UW-Eau Claire. Judith Hull, Computing and Networking Services, was featured in the June 27 Leader-Telegram article "Woman's game makes putting fun," about the new golf game Hull invented. David Shih, English, was featured in the June 26 Leader-Telegram article "Bottom dollar — UW-EC professor bet it all in bid to advance in World Series of Poker." Shih also was interviewed on WEAU-TV June 29 for a story titled "Is poker a sport?" |
