A variety of free fitness classes will be offered during Summer Session.

Health Assessment Clinic.
UW-Eau Claire nursing students and faculty will conduct a free health
assessment clinic for children ages 5-12 from 1
to 4 p.m. at the School of Nursing. Clients will receive free
evaluations that will include health histories, nutritional assessments,
vision and hearing screenings, and physical exams. Faculty will sign
some camp and sports physical forms. For more information or to make

Music
on the Mall Final Performance. Featuring Tom Brill performing
the great songs of the 1960s. If you remember The Searchers, The Rivieras,
Paul Revere and The Raiders, The Fortunes, Gene Pitney, Terry Stafford,
Wilson Pickett, The Vogues and, of course, The Beatles, then you’ll
have a ball with Tom Brill (The Memories) as he revisits these great
artists and their music. Audience members are invited to bring blankets
or folding chairs for lawn seating. Central Campus Mall (rain site:
Schofield Auditorium), 7 p.m.

Summer
Session Films. “American Graffiti.” (U.S. 1973, directed
by George Lucas, 110 minutes, rated PG.) Set in Modesto, Calif., in
1962, this collage follows the fortunes of four buddies (Ron Howard,
Richard Dreyfuss, Paul LeMat, and Charles Martin Smith) over a 12-hour
period one warm summer night — the night before two of them are
to go away to college in the East. The cast also includes Candy Clark,
Cindy Williams, Mackenzie Phillips and Harrison Ford. Davies Theatre,

Last Day of Summer Session Classes.

Summer Commencement. Commencement exercises for 234 candidates
for graduation will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Zorn Arena. Tickets are not
required. Roberta Gassman, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of
Workforce Development, will deliver the "Charge to the Class."
A reception for graduates and guests will follow the ceremony on the
Central Campus Mall. In case of rain, the reception will be held in
the Spruce-Tamarack Room of Davies Center.
Alumni Awards Luncheon. Five individuals will
be honored: Dennis Schwab, President's Award; Betty Cowley, Alumni Distinguished
Achievement Award; Larry Weber, Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award;
Marcia Weber, Honorary Alumnus Award; and Douglas Chickering, Lifetime
Excellence Award. Those interested in attending should call the Alumni
