Hanukkah and Ramadan Celebration Planned—
The Eau Claire Jewish and Muslim communities invite everyone to eat,
sing, celebrate and experience their two traditions at UW-Eau Claire.
About once every 30 years Hanukkah,
the Jewish Festival of Lights, and Ramadan, the Muslim observance
of the month of fasting, fall at the same time in the calendar year.
Together, the Jewish and Muslim communities
wish to share their observance of these events from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday,
Dec. 4, in the Menominee and Ojibwa Rooms of Davies
Center.
The event is sponsored by the Jewish
Student Association, Islamic Center and Mosque, Temple Sholom, Activities
and Programs office, Center for International Education and the University
Activities Commission of the Student Senate.
Holiday Reception—
All faculty,
academic and classified staff, and emeriti are cordially invited to
a Holiday Reception Monday, Dec. 9. The annual event
will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Council Fire Room of Davies
Center. Please take a little time from your busy schedule to enjoy
food and fellowship with your colleagues and friends.
