National Representative E-Mail - June 4, 2007

Dear NBA Student Member:

Two important messages from NBA!

(1) from NBA President Bobby Adams:

We are pleased to announce the 2007 International Conducting Symposium has been targeted for COLLEGE GRADUATE STUDENTS. In the past few weeks, we have been able to secure the appropriate funding to send two students to England in the beginning of August. We will send two graduate students to England...all transportation, tuition and housing paid by NBA! This conducting symposium will take place at the Canford Summer School of Music, Sherborne School–Sherborne, Dorset, UK. The deadline for materials submission is in two weeks. If you are a graduate student in wind conducting or music education, you should have all the necessary materials at your disposal to send in on time. Go to the NBA website for further information (application materials and such)!

(2) from Tim Baumann, National Student Representative:

Hello NBA Student Members,

I hope this e-mail finds everyone doing well. Congratulations to everyone for completing another school year and hopefully another successful year of NBA at your Universities. Many of our chapters have already begun preparing for next year by selecting officers. If you already know your new chapter officers or executive committee, please take a moment or two to go the NBA website www.nationalbandassociation.org and submit your chapter's new information so that it can be updated on the website.

I would also appreciated a brief e-mail from the new chapter presidents with the same information. By having your e-mail addresses we can hopefully stay in better touch throughout the next year. Please email ME with this information at Tim Baumann, baumanndifferent@gmail.com.

Thanks for all of your hard work for NBA, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Take care -
Tim Baumann
