Minutes - October 12, 2006 - Speaker: Andrei Strizek

Hi Everyone!

Well, its officially time to sell our sweatshirts.  Sales will kick off on Sunday at the concert and we will continue to sell Monday-Friday in the lobby of HFA from 10-3.  I will repost the selling sign up on the board.  If you are able to help out that would be wonderful.  We are still looking for people to cover these times: 11-12, 2-3 Monday, 2-3 on Tuesday, 11-1, 2-3 on Wednesday, and 2-3 on Friday.  Also, if you are able to sell at the concert on Sunday we would love it!  And by the way, our shirts are navy blue with a gold logo.  Crew necks will be $16 and hoodies will be $20.  If you would like an xxl its an extra $2.  Spread the word!

Next we talked about Indianhead Honors Band.  On Friday, Nov 3 we will be setting up HFA at 3.  On Saturday we would love (and need) helpers all day.  Some of the things that we need help with are:  getting food in the morning, manning the sign in table, rehearsal note takers, concessions, afternoon snack, ushers for the evening concert (non Wind Symphony members), watching coats in the choir room, take down afterwards.  Its a really fun day, so please try and be there.  After the concert we will have a social at Mike's place.

On Thursday, October 19 we will have our first progressive dinner.  Tons of people already signed up and it will be a wonderful time!  If you would like to go, please sign up on the NBA board.  We will start at 7:30 and I will send another email with details later!

This Sunday we are hosting a reception following the band concert.  Thanks to Kira for helping out!  If anyone else is able to help, that would be awesome!  It's super simple.  All you have to do is make sure there is plenty of punch and cookies.  Oh yes, and smile!!

We are in the process of planning a service activity at Fall Creek.  We want to get kids excited about band!  More to come on that!

And last but not least, Andrei Strizek gave a really great presentation on Keys to Success as a First Year Teacher and talked about his first year at Chi Hi.  Thanks to Andrei!

Well, I think that is it.  Sorry to make this so long.  If you are able to help or attend any of these events please sign up on the board and/or email me!

You are all awesome and thanks for all of your help!
