Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, The Skin of Our Teeth is the satiric story of the extraordinary but flawed Antrobus family and their struggle to survive against all odds including the ice age, a flood and war. Serving as an archetype for all families, the Antrobus' are a sometimes wacky and always moving testament to the human spirit. They reflect the seeming contradictions of defiant optimism and defeatist cynicism with which human nature struggles. Through it all, the family is determined to learn from their past and look cautiously but optimistically to the future. As Mr. Antrobus says, "We've come a long way. We've learned. We're learning." "Wonderfully wise . . . A tremendously exciting and profound stage table." |
