DanceWorks 2008

April 24-26 at 7:30 p.m.
Kjer Theatre

The Concert Dance Company presents DanceWorks 2008, under the direction of Dr. Toni Poll-Sorensen. We have put together an evening of choreography by students, faculty and guest artists. Over 60 students from majors in nearly every department on campus have gathered together to present dances that showcase the traditions of ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and ethnic dance.

The dancer believes that his art has something to say which cannot be expressed in words or in any other way than by dancing...there are times when the simple dignity of movement can fulfill the function of a volume of words. There are movements which impinge upon the nerves with a strength that is incomparable, for movement has the power to stir the senses and emotions, unique in itself. ( Doris Humphrey, 1937)
