Sunday, September 28, 2008 2:00 p.m. Zorn Arena, UW-Eau Claire **** A Salute to the Big Bands **** "Let Freedom Ring" Big Band Era Concert & Dance with Guest Artist Nachito Herrera and Grammy Nominated UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Ensemble II Robert Baca, director The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire department of music and theatre arts will present "A Salute to the Big Bands: Let Freedom Ring," honoring Wisconsin's military veterans, during the annual Big Band Era concert and dance. Relive the big band era with an evening of music from UW-Eau Claire's national award-winning ensembles. Dance on one of our two large dance floors or take a seat and enjoy the music. Special appearances will be made by U.S. Armed Forces Color Guard; "Grace Notes" bell choir of Bethesda Lutheran Church; Two to Tango, the university dance group; and university student/community vocalists.		In this election season, enjoy a historical journey of music and dance as we pay tribute to songs celebrating American freedom. Special solo features by trumpeter Robert Baca, drummer Jeffery Crowell, students and community members.
