Clearly Three

Clearly Three

Kristine Fletcher, bassoon
Richard Fletcher, clarinet
Barbara Wimunc-Pearson, piano

The members of Clearly Three Richard Fletcher (clarinet), Kristine Fletcher (bassoon) and Barbara Wimunc-Pearson (piano) have performed together numerous times during the past twenty years, but officially formed the trio in 2002-03 to explore the literature for the clarinet, bassoon and piano. While compositions for clarinet, bassoon and piano were written during the Classical and Romantic periods, this genre has enjoyed its primary success during the 20th century. With a substantial number of composers contributing works, well over 160 20th century compositions exist for this combination of instruments. Clearly Three enjoys presenting these chamber works as an exciting and dynamic performance genre. Recent performances include the First Fridays Arts Series and the 2005 ClarinetFest (conference of the International Clarinet Association) in Tama-Tokyo, Japan. Their CD, Clearly Three performs Trios from the Twentieth Century, is available through www.cdbaby.com/cd/kfletcher.
