Friends of Music is a cooperative effort between community members, educators, university staff, and alumni to further the ability of the Department of Music and Theatre Arts to achieve excellence in music education and its programs. Our mission is to promote the quality of cultural life in the Chippewa Valley by supporting the Department's provision of excellence in the performing arts.

Building on grateful appreciation of past support, Friends of Music provides an opportunity to join with others who have shared interests. It allows the community and university to come together in a partnership to further enhance our cultural life and the education of students in the performing arts.

Friends of Music has been a remarkable success, providing support for various needs of the Department. To help celebrate the Department of Music and Theatre Arts' Fiftieth Anniversary year in 1997, Friends of Music enthusiastically embarked upon a major capital campaign to purchase new grand pianos for the Departments' performing venues.

How can you show your support?

• by contributing to Friends of Music special giving through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation
• through frequent patronage of the Department's musical and theatrical performances
• through participation on the Friends of Music Steering Committee
