Baritone Robert M. Knight joined the faculty of UW-Eau Claire’s Department of Music and Theatre Arts in 1988 and was appointed Chair of the department in 2005.  Dr. Knight has taught Applied Voice, Opera Literature, Voice Literature, Techniques of the Singing and Speaking Voice, Introduction to Singing, Voice Pedagogy, Music History 1900 to Present, and was Director of the Opera Workshop Ensemble from 1988-2005.  In addition to his teaching, Dr. Knight has served as Stage or Music Director for 32 productions at UW-Eau Claire and, in 1993, started Opera on Wheels which provided Opera Outreach to over 35,000 elementary students during his tenure as director.  As a performer, Dr. Knight has appeared in leading roles in over 30 opera and musical theatre productions throughout the Midwest and regularly presents recitals on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
