For more than 25 years, UW-Eau Claire's
Office of Multicultural Affairs has
supported students, faculty and staff in a continuous effort to build and maintain a diverse university community. We recognize
and embrace the strength that resides in our human diversity, both culturally and intellectually. As a result, we strive to benefit from
diverse thinking, teaching and learning.

Our Mission
To provide leadership in creating a welcoming and engaging campus for students from ethnically
and culturally diverse backgrounds so that they thrive and achieve their full potential.
Our mission is accomplished by striving for these objectives:
- To increase the presence and participation of multicultural students.
- To increase the total amount financial aid including scholarships available to multicultural students.
- To provide ethnic minority students with the academic, social and personal support services to help them succeed in college
and life.
- To encourage participation in the university-wide effort to enroll and graduate more multicultural students from UW-Eau Claire.
- To increase the participation of the UW-Eau Claire community in the recruitment and retention of multicultural students and
the success of multicultural programs.
- To develop and facilitate cultural awareness and leadership programming to enhance the positive self-image of students of color.
- To help foster within the university community a respect for and an appreciation of the history, tradition and culture of ethnically
diverse students and groups.
