lack knowledge of regents While the UW Board of Regents
is preparing for its meeting at UW-Eau Claire, many students have
no knowledge of who the regents are or what they do.
UW-Madison grads hold board majority
The University of Wisconsin System is made up of 13 four year campuses, however only three regents have ties to schools other than UW-Madison in the state system.
Firing of professor raises tenure issue
The Board of Regents dismissed a tenured professor at UW-Superior on a split
vote. Some faculty fear the decision has broken shared governance. The board
said John Marder's pattern of behavior was disrupting his department.
UW
System tuition, financial aid aren't equally increasing this academic year The
UW System's budget is forcing students to pay higher tuition this academic
year. Students at comprehensive campuses are paying 7 percent more than last
school year, and financial aid isn't matching the tuition increase.
UW-Madison
changes apparel provider The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents
approved a five-year, $8.3 million apparel contract with Adidas in June.
The company will be responsible for providing athletic apparel for
UW-Madison's 23 sports teams.
