Friendship spans two continents and reaches hundreds in Peru, U.S.

The day she spied him at the end of an alley in Ayacucho, about to abandon his loom, Melanie Ebertz and Wilber Quispe became as intertwined as the textiles she designs and he weaves. Now they're working to preserve an art form, feed the school children Peru forgot, and imbue U.S. tourists with the spirit of the Andes.
