Four running for School Board
JoAnne Evans, Mark Olsen, Anton Smets and Carol Olson will be vying for three seats on the Eau Claire Board of Education in Tuesday's election. Smets is the only candidate without experience on the board, but all of the contestants are interested in serving the school district. 

Two seek to fill District 5 City Council seat
Berlye Middleton and Joel Levandowski are competing for the District 5 City Council seat vacated by councilwoman Carolyn Kortness.  Both candidates are fervent about pursuing issues important to Eau Claire's  West Side residents.  audio bug Hear Middleton's comments on voting

Pavement-pounders square off in District 2
Toby Biegel and Fred Urmann may be newcomers to city politics, but they are veterans when it comes to knowing the issues facing  Eau Claire. Both have knocked on doors in District 2 to let voters know they care about flood victims, revenue sharing and downtown revitalization.

Current City Council member Jane Tappen will face attorney Howard White in next week's election.  While Tappen feels strongly about neighborhood issues, White's sights have been set more on citywide concerns.

War veteran takes on incumbent
Rodney Pettis is facing incumbent Beverly Boettcher in the District 3 City Council race. Boettcher has served on the council since 1995, while Pettis has filled leadership roles in several war veterans' associations. Both agree that city expansion is a hot topic.
