The UW-Eau Claire Math Club is a gathering of students who are interested in and enjoy mathematics. Math club provides and encourages a friendly environment for every student who is interested in mathematics, including those who are good at mathematics and those who need assistance. Members will mutually respect each other and appreciate each other.
The club will meet regularly, with the Mathematical Honor Society known as Kappa Mu Epsilon (KME), to promote mathematics and form a community within the university and mathematics department. There will be such gatherings as movie nights, dinner get togethers, and possible intramural teams formed through University Recreation.
The math club is open to anyone who is interested in math. Those who are mathematics majors or minors and meet the criteria of KME can later join the honor society which will preside over the meetings and work with the students to create activities and programs for the club.
Well, besides the gatherings mentioned above, math club will do such events as weekly trivia on its website, which is being created this summer, and face off preparation for the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) Wisconsin Sectional meeting “Face Off” contest, a Jeopardy style math game. Opportunities to attend mathematics conferences are also an opportunity to members, especially those involved and committed to the club.
To join, fill out the form under the "membership" link to your left. You will receive e-mails about events and other information relating to mathematics as the academic year proceeds.
