Lambda
of x is a rational function whose numerator is a monic polynomial of
degree n and whose denominator is a monic polynomial of degree n-1
such that the n-1 real roots of the denominator and n real roots of
the numerator are interlaced. It follows that lambda is a
measure preserving map from R to R.
