Mathematics programs at UWEC

Mathematics is not a narrowly defined profession, but rather a broad intellectual discipline that underlies most of modern science, business and technology. While some careers require specific programs of study, a mathematics degree is more than vocational training, and persons trained in mathematics are found in many diverse and rewarding careers. Mathematics is not simple or easy, but persons with a significant mathematics background have a distinct advantage in a shifting and competitive economic environment. Many students whose primary interests are more oriented toward business or science find that a Mathematics Minor significantly enhances their career goals.
