Department Colloquia - The Mathematics Department Colloquium provides Department members and guests with the opportunity to make presentations on mathematics, curriculum, pedagogy, and related issues. The Colloquium usually, but not always, takes the form of a lecture followed by opportunity for questions.
Friday Seminars - The seminar provides an opportunity for Department members to share with interested colleagues research results, work in progress, or topics of current study. The audience frequently interrupts the presenter with questions, challenges, insights, etc., and the presenter is free to confess ignorance or error. The Seminar meets late Friday afternoons.
Math Meet - An annual mathematics competition for area high school students. Public and private schools are invited to participate and are divided into divisions according to school enrollment. Team trophies and individual scholarships are awarded.
Math Mondays - Features stimulating mathematics presentations by students, faculty and guests on topics of interest to mathematics and computer science students including; videos, career opportunities, graduate school opportunities, solutions to interesting problems and overviews of advanced topics in mathematics.
Mathematics Retreat - Each spring the Mathematics Department holds a Mathematics Retreat. Mathematics classes scheduled for that day are replaced by special events. Both faculty members and students make presentations about special topics in mathematics. In addition, there is a guest speaker.
Speaker's Program - Many of our faculty are available for speaking on a variety of mathematical topics.
Summer Workshop in Mathematics
