Multimedia Resources to Enhance the Learning Experience

Building Information Technology Skills (BITS), the College of Business (COB), and students from the English Department Internship Program have collaborated on a web site that provides resources for instructional staff and students wanting to take advantage of wireless and Internet-based technologies. The content was originally developed during Fall 2009 by BITS Writing Intern Samantha Muehleis (English, Scientific and Technical Writing). Development continues with the help of our current intern, Andy Seifert (English, Creative Writing).

Technology to Enhance the Learning Experience is a web site designed to facilitate the technological needs of UW-Eau Claire educators and students. The site includes a repository of tools that enable users to take advantage of multimedia, communication, and collaboration resources easily available to them. Not only do these tools blend learning practices, but they also enable teaching and learning outside of the classroom. The website's mission statement reads as follows.

Mission Statement: This repository of technology tools is meant to serve as a link to practical and purposeful technology tools that are accessible via the Internet. This repository does not attempt to encompass each and every technology tool but merely a select number of tools that are accessible online and do not require registration or purchase. Accordingly, UWEC does not provide help documentation for all of the tools that are a part of this site but help documentation for select tools can be found at: http://www.uwec.edu/help/
