New Calendar of Events Rolled Out

As announced in the University Bulletin on February 9, UW-Eau Claire's Web Calendar of Events has been replaced. The EMS Master Calendar Web Event System provides a central source for campus event information. The primary display is the searchable event web site that can be accessed from the Quick Links on University top-level pages and from “More events…” on the University home page.

Here are just some user features provided by the new Calendar of Events:

• The home page interface provides a Grid View (Calendar) or List View by day, week, month, or year.
• With the Calendar Selection menu option, users can view calendars individually or select multiple calendars for a combined view
• Powerful search options include event type, location, keyword, and more
• The Email a Friend function allows users to notify others of upcoming events
• Users can subscribe to calendars or specific events to automatically receive emails informing them of new events, changes, or cancellations
• System-generated event reminders can be emailed to attendees
• Events can easily be added to your personal calendar

Those who maintain event information will appreciate how easy the system is to use.

• Events can be entered in seconds as one-time or recurring items
• Entries can be enhanced with images and attachments, such as flyers, maps, and forms
• Automated Master Calendar information can be sent to your web site with real-time RSS feeds
