Campus Solutions (CampS) Continues

UW-Eau Claire is continuing work on the CampS project,  the transition from its current in-house developed administrative computing system,  to the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions software package.  Offices will begin to see some changes within the next 12 months when implementation begins in a rolling go-live plan.

Some of the activities going on up to this point include:

• Lead people from the functional offices of Student Records, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Financials have been relocated to offices in the Old Library 2100 area, where they are now working full-time with consultants from the Ciber consulting firm on setting up and testing software for their respective areas and the database as a whole.  In many cases, additional staff from these and other offices are working with the configuration.

• The LTS Development staff is planning the conversion of data and working on required customizations of software, as well as database setup and security strategies.

• Computing hardware to support the new system has been configured and ordered.  Delivery is expected very soon.

• Additional third-party software has been identified to handle some of the tasks not currently performed by Campus Solutions.  In some cases, such as Admissions recruiting software, the product has been purchased and is in the process of being configured.  Timing in other areas is dependent on schedules identified by users in those areas.
