Update on Campus Solutions

UW-Eau Claire is continuing work on the CampS project (i.e., the transition from its current in-house developed administrative computing system – home of the ‘Bridge’ pages and ‘MyBlugold’ student-related capabilities – to the UW System-directed PeopleSoft Campus Solutions software package).  Offices will begin to see some changes in the next 18 months when implementation begins its rolling go-live plan.

Some of the activities going on this spring include:

• Functional lead people from Student Records, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Financials have moved their offices to the Old Library 2100 area.  They will be working there part time as we begin set-up tasks.

• After some delays due to staffing unavailability, our Ciber Consultants implementation project manager and technical lead are starting work on a 25% basis.  In May our functional consultants will begin arriving on campus and the current consultants will be working onsite full time.

• Technical and functional personnel have completed most of their training with just a few classes left to be taken.

• The implementation team has begun configuration and set-up of the new database.  This involves considerable research to determine the best way to set up our infrastructure.

• Demonstrations of 3rd party software products have been ongoing for areas in which the Campus Solutions software doesn’t provide adequate capabilities.  Areas looking at 3rd party software solutions include Housing and Residence Life, Alumni and Development, and Admissions.
