We have our first French club event planned! We will be going to the Twin Cities on Saturday, October 9 to see the movie L'Arnacoeur and also eat at a French restaurant. We plan on leaving Eau Claire at 10am. Please email us by Wednesday 9/22 to let us know if you plan on going or not as well as if you need a ride.
We are still finalizing the details for the T-shirt design contest. If you want to design a shirt, please do so and get it to us soon.
The French Honor Society, Pi Delta Phi, should be up and running soon. If you meet the requirements to join, check your email since Michelle will be emailing you with details. We plan on having the induction ceremony on Friday, October 15. Once everything is finalized, we will let you know.
Finally, we will be starting to collect the dues. The cost is $5. Please get that to us as soon as possible.

This meeting was a general meeting about Le Salon Français and what we will be doing this semester/year.
We plan doing the Tournées Film Festival once again this year during the spring semester. Next week will be picking the 5 films that we will be showing forthe festival. Please pick your top 8 films and submit them to the online survey before then.
We will also be participating in the International Folk Fair again this year. We are thinking the theme will be "French Around the World". More information will be coming in the next few months.
We also want to have T-shirts again this year. We are going to be having a T-shirt design contest. Whoever wants to design a shirt has the opportunity to do so and then submit it to us. Once all the designs have come in, we will all then vote and whoever wins will get a prize (yet to be decided)!
We are also going to be re-opening the Pi Delta Phi National French Honor Society this year. Anyone who is a French major or minor is elegible to join. You must have a 3.0 GPA in French, 2.8 GPA overall, completed French 315 and be at least sophomore standing. More information about this opportunity will be coming soon.
Once again this year we will also be writing "Pen-Pal" letters to Memorial High School students and tutoring French high school/univeristy students.
We are planning on have a French Movie Night as well as possibly going to see the UAC showing of Le Samouraïon November 4 with coffee beforehand.
We are also hoping to have a French-speaking Extravaganza where anyone who wants to can come and casually practice speaking French.
Plus, we are going to be setting up little parties where everyone can come to just relax and have fun!
We have a lot of ideas, and if anyone else has any other ideas of what they would like to do with Le Salon Français, don't hesitate to email!
Keep checking your email for more information and updates about events and meetings.
