The links below lead you to websites of academic interest in the following disciplines. Some have been gleaned from UW-Eau Claire faculty recommendations, others from reviews in the collection development literature. These are non-commercial sites.

- American Verse Project 1700 - 1920: Full-text electronic archive of selected volumes of American poetry prior to 1920. Most of the archive is made up of 19th century poetry, although a few 18th century and early 20th century texts are included.
- Bartleby.com - Great Books Online: The homepage of Bartleby, links the user to literature information by subject, author and title.
- Cambridge History of English and American Literature: An Encyclopedia in Eighteen Volumes: A Bartleby website, which links to the encyclopedia online.
- CHILDE: Children's Historical Literature Disseminated throughout Europe: A collection of children's books, published in Europe before 1890.
- Cooperative Children's Book Center: A UW-Madison School of Education website that links to recommended websites, bibliographies, and other topics of interest for children and young adult literature.
- Corpus of Middle English Prose and Verse 1100 - 1500: A collection of Middle English texts including Chaucer's Canterbury Tales & Troilus and Criseyde, Langland's Piers Plowman, Malory's Morte Darthur, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Everyman, and many others.
- Dickinson electronic archives Primary and secondary materials about 19th century poet Emily Dickinson.
- The English Server--Carnegie Mellon University eserver.org Accessible Publishing Online -- now based at University of Washington: A collection of works compiled by scholars for research and reading on a diverse range of topics.

- History of the English Language: A selected bibliographic list of electronic resources in English Language history, created Dan Mosser, Virginia Tech. Restrictions apply for some of the data bases.
- The Literature Network: By Chris Beasley. Searchable online literature: 200 full length books and 800 short stories. Includes Shakespeare, the Bible, and book reviews.
- Literary History.com/: A guide to critical articles on literature for readers, scholars and teachers.
- OneLook dictionaries allows visitors to search over four million words in over 700 dictionaries, has announced some improvements
- Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue: A website developed by Purdue University including information for using the Purdue writing lab and OWL, handouts, workshops and internet resources.
- The Oxford Book of English Verse: A Bartleby site which electronically links to the Oxford Book of English Verse.
- PAL: Perspectives in American Literature: A guide presented in book format, created by Paul P. Reuben, California State University, Stanislaus. The guide is comprised of selected bibliographies of American authors, from Early American literature to the present.
- Project Gutenberg: Electronic links to non-copyrighted books for download, primarily published before 1923, including Shakespeare, Poe, Lewis Carroll and others.
- Texas and San Antonio fiction and writers: The San Antonio Public Library's Fiction page.
- TEAMS Middle English texts Web access to Middle English literature: currently 284 glossed and well-presented works--and growing.
- Voice of the Shuttle: A database that connects to information available online for a wide range of topics of study and research.
- Women Writers ~ UVA etext collection in English Alphabetical list of selected English language works; some illustrated; some with tables of contents.
- World Wide Words: Exploring the English Language [.zip]: A look at the English language from British perspectives, including articles, unusual word definitions, reviews and resources devoted to the English Language.
- Wright American Fiction, 1851-1875: Full-text electronic archive based on the bibliography compiled by Lyle Wright. Consists of over 1,700 novels and other works of fiction published between 1851-1875, with plans to add almost 1,300 more by the end of 2002 to complete the collection.
