The links below lead you to websites of academic interest in the following disciplines. Some have been gleaned from UW-Eau Claire faculty recommendations, others from reviews in the collection development literature. These are non-commercial sites.
Communication Disorders:
- American Speech-Language-Hearing Association: The ASHA homepage, linking to information on speech, language, swallowing, hearing, balances and self help groups.
- Augmentative & Alternative Communication Center: A site of the Center, includes information to updates, academic resources, demographic information, device tutorials, early intervention, presentations, manuals, references, virtual resources and vocabulary.
- National Center for Speech-Language Pathology in Schools: Offers unique opportunities to gain CEUs as well as participate in a best practices supported membership. Some of the topics for CEUs are performance based assessment, curricular issues (literacy), and relevant IEPs.
- National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD): Includes online publications for health information, information about NICCD, research funding and programs.

- The Stanford Health Library - Ear, Nose, and Throat: Provides a user friendly library that offers solutions for common ear, nose, and throat problems, as well as symptoms, procedures and anatomy lessons.
- Voice and Swallowing Institute: Comprehensive site offers in-depth information on a variety of vocal disorders. Also provides digital images of the most common vocal problems that vividly illustrate the symptoms.
