African American Perspectives Pamphlets Home Page  American Memory Project, Library of Congress.   The Daniel A. P. Murray Pamphlet Collection presents a panoramic and eclectic review of African-American history and culture, spanning almost one hundred years from the early nineteenth through the early twentieth centuries, with the bulk of the material published between 1875 and 1900. The United States Commission on Civil Rights (USCCR) is an independent, bipartisan, fact-finding agency of the Executive Branch, first established under the Civil Rights Act of 1957. On November 30, 1983, a new Commission was established under the Civil Rights Act of 1983 (P.L. 98-183).
