Laptops, Digital Cameras, and Digital Video Cameras

McIntyre Library provides state of the art laptops for students to check out free of charge, as well as digital still and video cameras. You can visit the Equipment Checkout Counter, adjacent to the library's Circulation Desk to pick up your equipment. Reservations are accepted over the web and this document provides instructions for making a web reservation, canceling a reservation, and general equipment guidelines. These items are available for 1-day, 2-day, and weekend checkouts.

Group Rooms

Students may request the use of library rooms by presenting their Blugold cards at the Main Circulation counter, 1st floor. Computer Rooms are reserved online, but may not be reserved by phone. The Rooms are for group use only. The whole group must be present in order to check out the key. Late night study and final exam times may have special restrictions.

3 - 5 Person Group Computer Seating for 5 people with a plasma screen. 2-hour
6 - 10 Person Group Computer Seating for 10 people with a plasma screen. 2-hour
2 - 6 Person Listening Room Seating for 6 people with a TV, VCR, DVD, CD, and a dry-erase board. 3-hour

Universal Borrowing

The fastest way to get books and other circulating items from libraries in the UW System, Universal Borrowing takes mere days to get you the items you need. Try to get your books through Universal Borrowing before turning to Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan

Log in to ILLiad to request articles, books not available through Universal Borrowing, and more from other libraries. You can also check the status of your pending requests. Please verify that we do not own what you are looking for.

Media Scheduling

Faculty who need to reserve videos or other media for class on specific days should submit the Media Scheduling Form

Proxy Authorization

Faculty and Academic Staff currently employed at UW-Eau Claire may designate up to two people per semester to use the proxy service. This proxy authorization will permit faculty and academic staff to send a student assistant or the department program assistant to the library to pick up materials to be used by the faculty/academic staff member. The designated proxy will be able to use his/her personal Blugold card to do the checkout. Faculty and Academic Staff wishing to initiate a proxy authorization should fill out a authorization form (.pdf) and turn it in at the circulation desk
