ABOUT THIS LEARNING OBJECT

This learning object consists of four modules. The purpose is to familiarize the learner with digital image file types and their application in certain software programs, specifically Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop.

Each module has an opening page that describes the contained content. The subsequent content pages can be distinguished by the lighter left border background image and rectilinear navigation buttons. They will provide information on the topic and links for further investigation and associated activities.

Modules II and III require that the learner has access to Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint.

This learning object is designed on a linear basis. The learner should proceed from the first module to the next in order unless the information contained in that module is familiar to the learner. Non-copyright images are provided to complete the module activities. Do not use the screen images for these activities, they are saved at 72 dpi/ppi (screen resolution), the intended images are saved at higher resolutions and therefore larger file sizes, but these will provide the learner with the appropriate learning strategies while working with digital images. Information on obtaining these images will be provided at the appropriate time within the activity.

Any questions about this learning object should be addressed to Gene Leisz at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
