The
Loon Tribune
is a site designed to aid in the study of literature, American
culture, and composition. I hope that students taking my English
courses as UWEC and other visitors with a general interest in
literature, culture, and writing will enjoy the site.
The site
is designed with the following specific purposes in mind:
- to provide resources for critical reading, thinking, and writing;
- to showcase writing done by students in my courses at UWEC;
- to highlight
my work at UWEC in teaching, research, and service.
Above
all, the site is meant to illustrate and to celebrate the intellectual
life of a public university, which includes preparing students
for post-graduate life and careers, investigating research questions
that are important in contemporary culture, and communicating results to
a wider community.
