practices on soil formation
- Described three soil profiles on a drumlin observing differences in horizonation
relative to slope and landscape position |
2007 |
Putnam Park, Eau Claire, WI
- Soil Geomorphology was the focus of this excursion
- The clorpt model was used to help locate pits where different soil morphology
might be found
- These pits were photographed and sampled, in an effort to create a technical
report from our findings |

- Looked at coastal processes and produced a field trip guide explaining our
trip and the stops that were made. |
2007 |
Crystal Cave, Springfield, WI
- Karst processes were studied and an informational website was created
highlighting the various karst processes in the cavern |
2007 |
Chippewa Moraine Ice Age Unit, WI
- Hiked around the park studying the glacial features present taking field notes
- These feature were then put into an information poster |
2007 |
Chippewa River, Eau Claire, WI
- Fluvial and Mass movement processes were examined and field notes were taken
- A field trip guide was created |
2007 |
Desert Southwest Capstone
- Research was done on the Beatty Junction Barrier Bar, in Death Valley
National Park, a former remnant of glacial Lake Manly.
- Navigated to waypoints using Trimble ProXR so we could recreate past GPR
work done, also topographically corrected GPR lines with a laser level
- Posters and a website were developed explaining our research |
