"ERT is a technique for mapping the distribution of subsurface electrical resistivity in a cross-sectional format. Data is collected through a linear array of 61 electrodes coupled to a DC resistivity transmitter and an electronic switching box. The data is downloaded to a computer for processing and analysis. The data are inverted using a 2-D finite difference inversion routine. The final product is a two-dimensional cross-section plotting resistivity (in ohm-m) versus depth."
