| The shapes of Snow Hill and Penny Hill, shown above, were mapped using the global positioning system (GPS). GPR sample traverses (shown in blue) follow a grid-like sampling pattern with GPR lines oriented approximately parallel to dune strike and dip to efficiently delineate dune internal structure, showing stratigraphic orientation parallel and perpendicular to the overall dune migration direction. |
