Honokoa Gulch

Jake, Derek and Britta measure the height of a piece of
evidence of flooding 30 meters above the gulch floor.

Mission: To look for evidence of past flood events in Honakoa Gulch.

Methods: To study paleoflooding, a total station was used to construct a cross sectional profile of the gulch. Much of the work consisted of people simply exploring the gulch and looking for individual pieces of evidence of floods.

This stick and grasses stuck underneath some rocks are
most likely evidence of past floods.

Team: Brandon Cramer, Casey Farrell, Sarah Knable, Jake Henderson, Mike Molnar, Mark Nelson, James Strong, Britta Suppes, Derek Pirkl, led by Professor Doug Faulkner.
