LAVA HIKE!
The Holei Sea Arch seems like an entrance door leading us to the breathtaking lava field. Our clothes were soon soaked with sweat and misty rain again on our hike after just drying them off from the morning showers. It was worth it because we saw a live lava tube and flowing lava all over the hill. It took us around 4 hours to hike to the open lava tube and get back. By the time the Eau Claire crew was back to the headquarters, the sky was already dark.

P.S. We were drying out our clothes here!

At the headquarters and beginning of our hike. Where is the lava?

Extreme danger beyond this point!! We have no fear!!

Chain of Craters Road is eaten by the lava. The real lava hike has just begun.

More warnging signs!

Lava, lava, lava!!

Ocean view from the lava field. Facing southeast.

Ocean entry of the lava. When hot lava reaches the cold sea water, steam plumes are formed.

The lava hike wasn't easy. The field was extremely hot and humid. We are so small compared to the lava field.

Finally, we reach the lava tube. The hot , red, firing lava.

It was getting dark on our way back to headquarters. Live flowing lava was everywhere along the mountain!
