Stop # 2

Wailuku River State Park - Boiling Pots

The boiling pots are located on the Wailuku River, upstream from Rainbow Falls. There is a large knickpoint here that is similar to Rainbow Falls. Below it, however, are a series of cascading dammed up pools with small knickpoints inbetween.

The Main Falls at the Boiling Pots area. Interesting to note is the seastack-like object in front of the falls.

A look down the cascading pots. This is looking downstream, downstream from the waterfall.

Looking upstream from the previous picture, these boulders are fluvial deposits. This is a strong sign that catastrophic flooding events have helped shape this river.
