Stop # 5

Akaka Falls State Park

Akaka Falls State Park is located about 15 miles north of Hilo, on the flanks of Mauna Kea. This park is home to two waterfalls, Akaka Falls which plunges 442 feet, and Kahuna Falls which falls 100 feet into the gorge eroded by Akaka Falls. The path to these waterfalls winds through a lush rainforest.
