Are you organized to care for your family in the event of a disastrous earthquake?  Do you live in an area that is prone to earthquakes?  What can you do to prepare?  These are questions a head of household should ask themselves and discuss with their family, particularly if there is a natural hazard potential where you live.  Here are some basic survival items to consider for the home that can be set aside and replenished over time as part of everyday life.  For example, add one non-perishable food item that you would normally keep in the home anyway to the shopping list and put that one in the emergency kit.  In a short time a comprehensive emergency kit can be put together and your precautions will give you and your family a sense of security.
