n-Tropical
rainforests, like the Amazon, lie between the Tropic of
Capricorn
and the Tropic of Cancer. In this region
sunlight strikes Earth at roughly a 90-degree angle year
round. This year
round trend produces high amounts of solar heat
radiation 12 hours a day, 365 days per year (regions
away from the equator have days of varying length). This
consistent sunlight provides the essential energy
necessary to power the forest’s photosynthesis.
n--Tropical
rainforests are usually warm year round with
temperatures from
about 72-93 degrees F (22-34 degrees C).
n--Rainforests
also receive a consistent amount of precipitation from
the
evaporation of oceans and water due to
the intense solar heat.
