Introduction

The focus of our presentation is the phenomena lightning, and more specifically lightning strikes in Texas that affect humans. It has been noted in many scholarly documents that the shear number of lightning strikes that occur in Texas is not exceeded anywhere else in the world. The information contained in our presentation was gathered from many sources such as; studying scholarly journals, government documents, and other books we have found. There are significant effects that lightning has on the spring and summer months in Texas, even more specifically our study of Houston. As far as strikes on humans are concerned, one source states that testosterone and estrogen are two possible sources for the attraction, another site concludes that the victim was at the “wrong place, wrong time”. Lightning is definitely a phenomenon that everyone has observed and probably has stopped and wondered why exactly it occurs. We hope to explain that, and explore some of the human strikes that have occurred in Texas, while also focusing are research more directly on the city of Houston the lightning capitol of Texas. By studying and presenting from the large pool of data that is Texas and Houston we will achieve our goal of enriching the group understandingg of causation of lighting and its effects.
