.: Analysis

According to Ritter et. al., a sink hole is a closed hollow of small or moderate size, also more commonly known as a doline.  Dolines are the most common karst landscape.  Formation of a sink hole is seen in the image from New Mexico Bureau of Geology.  At Crystal Cave a recent sink hole is located in the backyard of the main building.  The sink hole collapsed in 1982.  The room that was there before was known as the Cathedral Cavern.
