.: Analysis
Mary’s Maze is a room that was not founded until 1991, before this time the Crystal Cave tour stopped just before the Mary's Maze room. This room when discovered opened up many tunnels and passage ways for the rest of the cave. Mary's Maze is 70 feet below the ground surface, according to Blaze's studies. Radio Signals were used to calculate the distance from the ground surface. There are also many different tunnels leading in different directions. The tunnels are barely big enough to fit an average sized person, it wouldn’t be the best idea for someone who is claustrophobic to crawl into. This room is connected to the bat cave, where Blaze estimated about a thousand are located. There are minor stalactites and stalagmites on the sides of the walls, and occasionally a green film on the walls. The green film on the wall is a reminder to us not to touch the cave because the oils from our hands sticks to the cave and eventually turns it green. This can also be caused from a continuous light shining on the wall. Mary’s Maze is an important finding in the cave because of the doors it has opened throughout the cave. |
